Ficus come in nearly 600 different varieties. As a tree they can grow up to 70 feet and about that wide. As a bonsai they grow well in nearly any climate, lighting and even watering level. Many varieties grow interesting banyan like vines that when allowed to grow down to the ground will become part of the trunk stucture producing interersting results. An awesome choice for the beginner because they are highly tolerant of pruning and can survive droughts. The canopy is a lush vibrant green with spade shaped flowers of about 2 inches in length.
