Bald Cypress trees can commonly be found in swampy areas in the southeastern United States. You may remember seeing them with moss hanging from them watching a boater on television. They do surprisingly well in a variety of environments and have been found as far north as Wisconsin. However, the familiar cypress knees will only develop in their traditionally wet environment.
Bald Cypress do well in acidic, sandy, well drained soils but are know to do well in clay. This bonsai tree does require watering daily especially in the warmer tropical climates as can be expected in South Florida. During the summer months this bonsai will do well remaining submerged during warmer summer months.
This regal upright tree lends itself well to formal upright styles as can be found here on our website store. The foliage is light green and almost feathery on branches that can be wired but must be monitored to prevent damage to the bark. With care you will be able to enjoy a beautiful and impressive bonsai specimen. |
